We’re pleased to confirm that the current phase of highways improvements along Llantrisant Road and Clos Parc Radur is almost complete.
Our contractor, Walters, will be carrying out a pre-commissioning audit on the remaining two crossings and traffic signals at Clos Parc Radur next week.
As a result, the new permanent lights are expected to be switched on and fully functional before the start of the Christmas break on December 22nd. Once the permanent lights are switched on, all temporary traffic lights will be removed.
Walters will continue working along Llantrisant Road planting the verges and tidying up, but the road will be fully operational while we complete these finishing touches. Some road barriers will remain in place on the filter lanes which will turn in to future development parcels. They will stay in place for the foreseeable future until these areas are developed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience and cooperation for the duration of the works, which due to unforeseen circumstances have taken longer than expected to complete. The most recent change to timescales, which saw the completion of the works delayed from mid-November, was due to bad weather which meant Walters was unable to complete the road surfacing and marking.
We understand your frustrations, and we’re sorry for the delays and for all the inevitable disruption you have experienced during these works.
