ABOUT PLASDŵR

Plasdŵr will be Cardiff’s garden city, delivering the homes and community our capital needs, helping fuel its economic growth and creating a fantastic place to live, work and play.

Located in north west Cardiff, the 21st Century garden city will be set within around 900 acres (368 ha) of open countryside bordering the existing communities of Fairwater, St Fagans, Danescourt and Radyr.

Plasdŵr represents a major development over the next 15 to 20 years, comprising around 7,000 new homes plus shops, offices, schools, health centres, leisure centres, pubs and restaurants. Its four distinct areas of individual character unite to create a high quality development with strong identity, activity and ‘sense of place’.

Characterised by plentiful green spaces, Plasdŵr takes its inspiration from the garden city movement, founded on the principles of “fresh air, sunlight, breathing room and playing room”.

It takes forward the movement’s successful design elements and those of existing areas of Cardiff including Pontcanna and Rhiwbina, as well as other UK and European towns and cities.

Progress to date at Plasdŵr can be found in the Story So Far section of the website.
